We finished up our Best Part of Me writing today. Students picked a body part that they thought was their best feature. Then we went through the writing process to describe that body part. They brainstormed reasons why they loved it, what they can do with it, and words to describe it. Then they met with a partner to edit and revise, and then they were ready for the final copy.
Students took their Unit 3 reading test today. I will be sending these home with an outline of the skills that were covered.
We read a Valentine’s Day story as a class then the students read it silently, and finished by reading it with a partner. Then we answered some comprehension questions about the passage.
Students made a Love Monster today based off of things they love. The number of eyes and colors of each body part were determined by things they love so everyone’s monster was different.
