Welcome back! We got right back into the swing of things like we didn’t even miss a beat.
I told the kids today that I will be gone tomorrow. I need to go back into the doctor and get another ultrasound for Baby R. They will have a sub that they have had before and really like. I look forward to hearing great things about their day!
We started the next unit of writing which is descriptive. We talked about our 5 senses and how we can use them to help us write. Then the students chose an object from the room and used their 5 senses to describe it.
During math we used a hundreds chart to find patterns. We added 1 and 10.
During reading we read a text about penguin’s bodies. The students highlighted facts as they read. We used the information we highlighted to answer some questions about penguins.
Since it’s a short week we don’t have a spelling list. Instead, we played a game to work on our priority words. The game is called sparkle and the kids had a lot of fun with it.
During grammar the students did a partner activity to work on compound words. We will dive in deeper with compound words next week.
During science we started talking about solids, liquids, and gases.
