The Book Fair is now open! Students had the chance to walk around and check out books today. The hours are listed on the poster.
Students worked on writing vertical equations today.
Ms. Austin, one of our reading specialists, came in to teach the kids a lesson today. It was fantastic! She taught the students about closed words. A word is a closed word when it has only one vowel with a consonant afterwards. When it is a closed word the vowel says the short vowel sound. The students became detectives looking for closed words in books and putting them up on a poster. They even found out some of their first and last names were closed.
With Ms. Austin’s lesson and family groups today, we didn’t have much time for art. We watched a video on how to draw a pumpkin and shade it with crayons.
