Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
We took our first spelling test today. Those will go home on Monday.
Today we talked about the next part of writer’s workshop, Independent Writing. Then students worked on building their writing muscles. They wrote for 13 minutes today. Sam wrote a story about going to the zoo and seeing bats. Spencer wrote a story about how he loves football fields especially the NE football field.
We found all of the 7 partners in math today.
We will always have 2 phonics skills for the week. We discussed the ck sound today. Students saw this sound on a lot of their spelling words and word work activity this week.
Students reread their story from yesterday. Some students wrote about what they want to be when they grow up. Evan wants to be a fireman like his dad. Some students worked on writing complete sentences.
During grammar we worked on writing complete sentences. We talked about how sentences need to be a complete thought with a capital letter at the beginning and a period at the end.
Students are bringing home many different items today. Their snack and chat bag, math homework, field trip permission form, and purchased student pictures. Please have them return their permission form as soon as possible. Also have them return their snack and chat and homework on Monday.
