With possibly only one Nebraska football game left I am moving towards Nebrasketball. We made it to our first basketball game of the season last night. Such a fantastic arena.

We reviewed our anchor chart we made on Wednesday to help us with our math journal. The students  compared numbers to 50 and decided if they were greater or less than.

We moved on to our next unit in writing. We started our how to writing. The students brainstormed how to make a pizza. They told me all kinds of things to do to make a pizza, but it was all out of order. I had them sort the steps in order, and then they wrote a graphic organizer. Today we will edit our rough draft and write our final copy.

During reading groups the students worked on writing their sight words from the week. They also practiced their first grade priority words. (Make sure to keep having them practice those.) They also worked on writing words with long u.

During phonics the students learned about the -ed ending. This ending tells us that the word happened in the past. The -ed ending can sound different at the end of words.
