Happy Hump Day!

Our next addition strategy was making ten. We used a rainbow to show that you can go either way on the rainbow to make the fact. This also reviewed the flip flop fact strategy.

We added this strategy to our math mats.

During math small groups the students practiced their number line.

For whole group reading we listened to A Big Fish for Max and answered some questions that they will most likely see on the reading test 🙂

This week is Red Ribbon Week. We talked about how important it is to just say no to drugs. Then I told the students they could pledge to be drug free. They all decided to Be Drug Free.

During small reading groups we worked on rhyming words. The students were also given some sentences that were out of order. They put them in the correct order and then wrote complete sentences.

We had our first Roadrunner with Character Assembly today. This assembly was recognizing students with citizenship and responsibility. Congrats to Regan for getting it this quarter. All teachers will be giving out Character Cards to students they see showing their true colors. I will be using these cards to help make my decision for the next Roadrunner with Character.
